Ingredients

• Stale bread - 6 cups, cubed
• Milk - 2 cups
• Heavy cream - 1 cup
• Eggs - 4 large
• Granulated sugar - 1 cup
• Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
• Semi-sweet chocolate chips - 1 cup
• Unsweetened cocoa powder - 2 tablespoons
• Butter - 2 tablespoons, melted
• Salt - ¼ teaspoon

Instructions

   Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

   In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined.

   Add the cubed bread to the mixture and gently stir to coat all the pieces.

   Let the bread soak for about 15 minutes to absorb the liquid.

   Stir in the chocolate chips, then transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.

   Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the pudding.

   Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the pudding is set and the top is slightly crispy.

   Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
