Ingredients

• Unsalted butter - ½ cup
• Brown sugar - 1 cup
• Heavy cream - ½ cup
• Salt - ¼ teaspoon
• Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon

Instructions

   Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

   Add the brown sugar and stir until dissolved.

   Pour in the heavy cream and add salt, stirring continuously.

   Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

   Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

   Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then pour into molds or onto a lined baking sheet.

   Let the butterscotch set at room temperature before cutting into pieces or breaking into shards.
